With the help some diagrams someone loaned me. The front and rear cigarette lighter sockets are powered from the fuse in the central control unit as you say and the aux in the RJB. The aux is powered directly off the battery via a 60 amp fuse F19, the cigarette lighter sockets are powered via the battery saver circuit controlled by the CJB. The cigarette lighter fuse the same as any fuse can blow when the circuit draws more amperage than the fuse is supposed to handle. So, a 10-amp fuses drawing 15-20 amps will blow. It is supposed to do so as a fail-safe. Don’t be tempted to replace the fuse that has blown with a higher rated fuse to stop it blowing again but please do not ever Cut a fuse in half, remove all plastic and solder the fuse holder wires on to the two halves of the fuse. Suitably sleeve solder joints. Remove cigarette lighter socket fuse from fuse box. Insert said fuse into inline fuse holder. One end of fuse holder into unused TCU fuseway, and other end into load side of cigarette lighter socket fuseway. Ford Senior Technician. Vocational, Technical or Tra 2,562 satisfied customers.
