You'll need more Hero Points (HP). You get enough to level out your core just from leveling up, so you'll need an extra 250 for an elite specialization. Central Tyrian HP give you 1 point per spot. All expansion HP give you 10 per spot. Central Tyria has 200, HOT has 40 (400), POF has 29 (290), EOD has 31 (310). Adventures are typically meant for level 80 characters, but some can be done by lower level ones, such as holiday-specific time trials. They have leaderboards and different rewards and it can be fun to compete against your friends and guildmates by attempting to beat their times/scores.
